Learn New Vocabulary

A good way to learn new vocabulary is to use it. You can find a variety of topics here: http://www.englishpage.com/vocabulary/vocabulary.html

Chose a set of words and make a dialogue where you use them. Film this with cellphones or iPads. If you film the scenes instead of performing them, it gives the students a chance to make it as good as possible by improving their performance after some feedback.

This is also a good way to jump start your imagination. It can be hard to come up with a story, but if you have words on a certain topic you can create a story around the topic. For instance; if you have words regarding foods it might inspire you to make a film about a family having dinner, some people going shopping or creating your own cooking show.

This can be done in an advanced class as well as with beginners.

Listening to English All Over the World

It can be hard to find good examples of spoken English from different countries. Utbildningsradion has a progarmme called My Secret Land where you can listen to kids aged 9 to 15 speak about themsleves and their countries. As a student you are to guess where speakers come from, and don't worry, they will tell you at the end.
